Photovoltaic Solar Panels

We're all trying to make more of an effort to look after the planet and using solar energy to power our homes is becoming increasing popular around the world. Solar panels on your roof or in the garden give you the option to become more independent from the National Grid, as well as reducing your household's environmental impact.

Depending on the size of your house, you'll probably need between 6 to 14 solar panels,

and they should last up to 30 years.

If you have solar panels. you'll know that they generate the most energy during the day, when the sun is shining on them, but this is historically the time during which homes use the least amount of electricity, when you & your family are at work or school.  So what happens to the surplus energy?

Store your Solar Energy and save money

One way you can use your excess solar energy is to sell it back to the National Grid via your electricity supplier - which will of course reduce your overall bill.

However, perhaps you would prefer to retain all the energy you generate. Installing a solar battery means that instead of selling the electricity you generate back to the National Grid, you can conserve this energy to use when you need it - perhaps to power your home when the sun goes down or to charge your electric car. A solar battery means a greater proportion of the electricity you use will be a low-carbon option to fossil fuels.

You'll also use less energy from the grid and therefore have lower bills to pay.

Solar system

We offer a bespoke solar & battery storage installation service. We can install a new array of solar panels on your roof or in your garden, whichever is more appropriate for you. We can also supply & install the equipment you need to convert & store that solar energy, or sell it back to the grid.

Consumer units

You might call it a fuse box, but these days the hub of the electricity in your home is usually known as a consumer unit. Inside, you'll find the circuits that provide the power for all the electrical items in your house: Sockets, lights, an immersion, electric ovens & hobs, smoke alarms, electric vehicle, out door power.  The consumer unit provides a vital safety function: in the event of a fault it can protect you from electric shock and even fire.

Is it time for a new consumer unit?

We pride ourselves in our bespoke consumer unit replacement service.

The benchmark standard for our installations is to always uphold the Irish Electrical Wiring Regulations to the highest standards.

Regulation requirements state that you must provide an RCBO consumer unit with an integral surge protection device. This is designed to protect any electronic device in your home or business in the event of a power surge.

If you are worried about the state of your current consumer unit or you have an old style rewireable fuse board, get in touch and we can give you advice and a quotation for upgrading your installation to a modern unit with up-to-date safety features.

Smart home technology

What is smart home technology?

We all want to save energy for the sake of the planet and our own bills - and one way we can do this is to use heating and lighting more efficiently in the home. Technological advances mean we can now control the energy we use remotely via apps and ensure that we only use what we need.

Smart thermostats allow you to control your heating via the internet from smart phones or tablets. Companies such as Nest, Hive, and Tado have created simple smart thermostats that give you flexibility in controlling your central heating - and you don't even need to be in the house or office.

A job other electricians said they couldn't do as it meant searching for a fault under floor boards - Was no bother to Anthony. Anthony arrived on time took time & huge amount of patience until the fault was found & everything was working perfectly. Couldn't recommend Anthony enough.
